Conferences & Clinics

Programs & Residencies

Children are naturally creative, and my school programs are designed to help them explore the power of music through brain-based learning. I collaborate with schools and music educators to deliver engaging experiences for elementary and secondary students, adaptable for groups of 5 to 500.

Drum Circle Facilitator Training

Boomwhackers

I LOVE Boomwhackers and have been using them for decades in my music/drum circles, performances, residencies, facilitator trainings and workshops. I have used them with very young children to build pitch awareness, rhythmic skills and better awareness. They are also terrific for exploring the "science of sound" as the length of the tube increases, the pitch of the tube gets lower.

Ukulele

I have developed an innovative approach to learning to play the ukulele that is designed to teach the student in the way that brain researchers say we learn best: through rhythm, movement, and creative play.

Looping

Making Space for Your Music: Building a "Home Practice" Through Looping. I have been using a looper for more than three decades, which has been one of the most meaningful tools in my personal home music practice. I cover Why Looping?; Looping in Practice & Performance; What You Will Gain; and Choosing a Looper.
