Artist in Residence
Music is a Metaphor for Learning
I love to collaborate with educators to model innovative approaches and teaching strategies for STEAM courses - Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math.

USE THE BRAIN
Current neuroscience research reveals the importance of arts-infused activities for brain-based learning. I'm dedicated to promoting a new generation of students who are inspired toward life-long learning, and I share key brain-based strategies that can be easily integrated and implemented into a wide array of curricular areas.

GET CREATIVE
As an Artist in Residence, I'll help you integrate the creative arts into your current curriculum using fun and interactive rhythmic and improvisational games and activities. We'll explore learning through creative problem solving, nonverbal communication, team building, and leadership. And did I mention that we can meet all of your national standards in a fun and engaging way?

Music Educators will find I love to weave music concepts such as form, meter, dynamics, conducting, pentatonic scales, ethnic scales, and spoken rhythmic language into a variety of large group and ensemble forms.

I believe that experiencing the musical instruments and styles of many cultures in an improvisational manner can inspire students toward a greater awareness, understanding, and appreciation for others as well as themselves. This creative work brings out the musician in students and educators alike - I see the results in my work every day.

TAKE THE FIRST STEP
Learn more about one of my Artist in Residence sessions. Contact me and tell me about your group - who you are, how many, what you do, and what you hope one of these sessions could do for you and your school. I'm sure you will be amazed.
