School Programs
Children are naturals at being creative. That's why I love working with schools and music teachers to showcase brain-based learning ideas.
I offer a number of different programs that encourage children to explore the potential of music. Designed for elementary and secondary students, my school programs can be adapted for groups from 5 to 500.

RHYTHMS AROUND THE WORLD
"Rhythms Around the World" shares the music and rhythms of our world community. Experience the sounds and rhythms that have breathed life into music - from the distant past to present day! Songs, instrumentals, legends, and history are all utilized as Mary plays instruments from her vast multi-cultural collection. Students are invited to actively participate in rhythms, songs, and instrument play designed to build confidence in their own expressions through rhythm and song while developing an appreciation for their uniquely diverse school community! When booking this program, schools may choose regions of the world that should be highlighted.

MEDIEVAL FEAST
Join Mary in exploring medieval music and instruments and their continuing influence today! This fascinating collection of chants, ballads, recorder melodies, troubadour songs, and stories - through Mary's vivid interpretations - give modern audiences a glimpse into everyday life in the Middle Ages.

LAND OF THE LEPRECHAUN
Explore the myth and magic of everyday life, reflected in the spirit of Ireland. Mary presents a sprightly collection of stories, melodic ballads, pennywhistle tunes, and jigs performed on pennywhistle, bodran, guitar, mandolin, Irish Harp, and other traditional instruments. Guaranteed to set your feet a-dancin' - and your heart a-wishin' on a rainbow! Songs include McNamara's Band.

HEARTBEAT OF THE AMERICAS
"Heartbeat"explores the music and rhythms of Native North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean. Experience the sounds and rhythms that have breathed life into our music - from the primal spirit of the first denizens up to the present day! Mary plays cedar flute, frame drum, steel drum, guitar, and mandolin. Taking part in the musical celebration, the audience gains an appreciation for the diversity of cultures, as well as confidence in their own inner gifts of rhythm and song. Songs include Call of the Wild, Windy Mountain, Haulin' Joe.

CARIBBEAN CARNIVAL
Join in the carefree, laid back sounds of the islands. Percussion and strings, humorous Calypso song styles and songs portray scenes from everyday life. Mary delivers a joyful musical sampling that will set you swaying with the beat as she takes you through the many different cultural styles and traditions of the Caribbean. Songs include Day-O, Haulin' Joe.

RHYTHM VILLAGE
Come together in a rhythm circle and begin to feel the beat together! Everyone can take part, regardless of age or ability - it's easy to create fascinating rhythms. Rhythm Village is a great icebreaker and a fun way to build community. Mary provides the instruments for up to 200 students at a time! Songs include Funga Alaifa.
